30 Before 30 is a collection of inspiring moments gathered and experienced by Angie Banicki, LA publicist and friend to the stars. The idea began with a trip to Europe 30 days before her 30th birthday, and now continues to inspire with more shared moments and adventures from Angie’s travels around the world.
Ann Ogunsulire: “Hey Angie, world traveler – want to come to India next week?”
Me: “Ha I actually just said last week that I want to go to a traditional Indian Wedding before I die.”
Ann: “It’s a sign. I’m going for a wedding and I have a plus one. It’s in Goa. You should come.”
Me: “I couldn’t do that…or could I….?”
Every year since I took my 30 before 30 trip (yes, it’s been 3), I’ve gone to a new country by myself. These trips reignite my spirit, force me into challenging situations, and allow me to emotionalize and reflect on the year. The adventure also gives me an excuse to reconnect with inspiring people in my life – when I reach out and ask them for travel advice.
So I booked a flight to India to go meet Ann for her friends Lee and Priya’s wedding.
PS you have to get a VISA. So there was a bit of a delay but I made it.

They had a Welcoming Party and the ceremony/party for the Mehndi & Sangeet. Mehndi is the when they put the henna tattos on the bride and female guests. I was really disappointed to miss it but loved seeing it on all the hands and feet of the women when I arrived…
I was also greeted by this little guy at the airport when I landed in India:
