#21 – Ladies of Contempo

“Manicure Pedicure?”
I missed the sound of Diane’s voice saying those words over and over as customers walk into Contempo Nails.

I used to be a Contempo regular. I love it there because Diane, the owner, remembers me. I can spontaneously show up, and she makes me feel like I’m the most important person there.

As I watch her, I see she does this with everyone – the reason her business has expanded so! That and the candy bowl and Ida, if u ask me…

Ida gives you a massage while you get your pedicure. Ida’s how I got myself back into Contempo. Last week I was walking on Robertson on the phone, and Ida ran out the door yelling, “Angie Angie! Please come back and see us!”
I request Ida everytime. 😉

“Angie how many boyfriends do you have?” Ida laughs hysterically at herself. “Trick u, ha!”
“No boyfriends ida. Zero.”
“Angie! What? Nooo beautiful!” Ida starts to sing. “Beautiful annnngie.”
I guess I made the right choice with “Essee’s Smokin Hot” for my toes.
Ida confirms, “long legs so beautiful.”

I’m not sure what she’s seeing, because this is what I’m looking at:

I left Contempo with a pep in my step, and not just from pedicured feet! Friends, you know who you are, Diane misses you!
